Tommy Tokyos protestlåt «Alberta»

Indianerhøvdingen Francois Paulette (som har hovedrollen i filmen) fronter urbefolkningens kamp mot tjæresandutvinning, og han har nettopp vært på en opplysningsturné i Norge, i regi av WWF, Greenpeace, Samisk kirkeråd og Concerned Scientists. Turneen ble nylig avsluttet med et debattmøte og en klimasolidaritetskonsert i Stavanger Domkirke. Der fremførte Tommy Tokyo for første gang «Alberta» live.

– Jeg laget Alberta høsten 2011.Det var en direkte konsekvens av å ha sett dokumentaren “The tipping point – the end of oil”. En dokumentar jeg anbefaler alle å se. Jeg vil også komme med en henstilling om at vi som lager musikk for oss selv, og andre, ikke fremstår som nytte-idioter for de som står ansvarlige for mislighold av natur og miljø, mennesker og dyr, forteller Tommy Tokyo.
