On this page you will find information in English regarding the planning process for The New Oslo Public Library.
About this website
The “New Deichman” website is run by the Oslo Public Library (Deichmanske bibliotek), a subsection of the city’s Agency for Cultural Affairs, which has commissioned the new library building. The City of Oslo and its City Council have decreed that employees in the cultural institutions that are to be moved to Bjørvika – Munch and Stenersen Museum and the Oslo Public Library – are to contribute to the building projects with their professional expertise. This input, together with that of our patrons, is essential as we plan and build a library for the future.
Much of the library’s brainstorming happens on the blog. Input from you all is important if we are to be aware of the population’s wishes and needs in regard to the physical space, interior, and of course the collections and services in a new main library.
